A meeting was held at the Audiovisual Council with representatives of television broadcasters

On February 24, 2026 a meeting was held at the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the representatives of nationwide terrestrial and satellite television channels.

During the meeting, the duties assigned to television broadcasters in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as targeted state programs, strategies, and action plans adopted in areas of significant importance to public life, and issues related to their implementation were brought to attention. Aykhan Sadigly, Chief advisor of the Department of the Law and International Cooperation of the Audiovisual Council, informed the broadcasters that they are required to prepare programs in accordance with the Law "On the Restriction of the Use of Tobacco Products", the "State Program for 2025–2030 on Combating the Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors and Drug Addiction", the "National Action Plan for 2025–2030 on Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan", the "Action Plan for 2020–2030 on the Implementation of the Strategy on Children", the "State Program for 2023–2026 on the Development of Social Services in the Republic of Azerbaijan", the "National Action Plan for 2026–2028 on Gender Equality in the Republic of Azerbaijan", the "Action Plan related to the declaration of 2026 as the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture" in the Republic of Azerbaijan", and other relevant documents. They were also notified of the necessity of regularly submitting reports on the broadcast materials.

The meeting also addressed the activities to be undertaken by audiovisual broadcasters within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States’ 2026 Action Plan in the field of information, as well as matters related to the content and format of the reports submitted by broadcasters to the Audiovisual Council.

Then, Khoshgadam Zeynalova, Advisor of the Department of the Law and International Cooperation of the Audiovisual Council, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Resolution of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 24 December 2025 "On the Protection of Personal Rights".
