The broadcasting of the “ARB” channel will be suspended for 24 hours following violations of the advertising legislation

An online meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on February 13, 2026. The meeting discussed the fact of violation of the Law "On Advertising" on the "ARB" channel.

It was discovered that the discount and payment terms were not clearly and correctly displayed in the advertising material broadcast on the channel at 13.38 on February 8, 2026.

Necessary investigations were conducted into the matter and a violation of the requirements of Article 7 of the Law "On Advertising" was identified. Thus, the information presented in that advertisement is considered inaccurate advertising because it reflects information about the price of the product, price discounts, terms of purchase and payment in a distorted and untrue manner, according to Article 7.1.4 of the Law "On Advertising", and according to Article 7.2 of that Law, inaccurate advertising is not allowed.

Considering the fact that such violations have occurred several times on the television channel since the beginning of this year, and the relevant notifications have been sent to the channel, the members of the Audiovisual Council have adopted a decision to impose strict sanctions against the "ARB" channel and temporarily suspend the channel's broadcasting for 24 hours starting at 08:00 on February 16.
