ASLAN KHALILOV
Aslan Khalilov was born in 1962 in Hajigabul Region of Azerbaijan.
In 1982-1985 he studied in History faculty of Baku State University. In 1985-1988 he continued his study in History faculty of Moscow State University after M.V.Lomonosov.
From 1989 to 2003, he first worked as a teacher, then as a senior teacher at the Department of History of Baku Slavic University. He has been working as an associate professor since 2003.
In 2003, by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was appointed a member of National Television and Radio Council for the term of 2 years. By the relevant orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2005, in 2011 and in 2017 he was appointed the member of National Television and Radio Council for the term of 6 years.
By the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media" dated December 30, 2021 the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was defined as the body regulating the sphere of audiovisual media. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 08, 2022, the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the legal successor of National Television and Radio Council, established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October, 05, 2002. In accordance with paragraph 4.2 of this Decree, the members of National Television and Radio Council, whose term of office has not expired, continue their activities in the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan until the end of the period.
By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 14, 2023, Aslan Khalilov was appointed a member of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 1996 Aslan Khalilov defended dissertation on "Genocide against the Muslim population of the Transcaucasia in historical sources in 1917-1920" and received the title of PhD in History. This work is the first dissertation in our national historiography, describing the massacres committed by Armenian state organizations against the Muslim population of the South Caucasus in 1917-1920 as genocide. The book published in Russian in 2000, based on the dissertation, is kept in the library of the US Congress, the Holocaust Memorial Museum in the USA and in the libraries of a number of leading countries of the world.
Aslan Khalilov is a doctor of history since 2018. He is the author of 2 monographs and more than 60 scientific and scientific-publicistic articles. He is married, has 2 children.
