Organization of Islamic Cooperation Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum - IBRAF
Organization of Islamic Cooperation Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (IBRAF) is a Forum which endeavors to meet the need for increasing co-operation among Islamic Countries Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities against the backdrop of digitalization and convergence and to promote dialogue and cooperation between broadcasting regulatory authorities.
The kick-off Meeting was carried out on November 17-18, 2011 in Istanbul, Turkiye, which declared the foundation of IBRAF by issuing the Joint Declaration. IBRAF became a legal entity with Resolution 11/9-INF on the establishment of OIC Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum adopted by the 9th session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers (ICIM) held in Libreville, Gabon on April 17-20, 2012.
IBRAF Charter was adopted at the second founding meeting held on October, 2-3, 2012 in Jeddah. According to the Charter, which came into force on January 1, 2013 it was decided to organize the permanent secretariat of the IBRAF in Ankara, Turkiye.
Secretary General of İBRAF is Mr. Nurullah Ozturk, the member of Radio and Television Supreme Council of Turkiye (RTUK). The Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been a founding member of IBRAF since 2011.
