The Audiovisual Council held its next meeting
On May 8, 2025, a meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.
At the beginning of the meeting, the dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with deep respect on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of his birth. Addressing the meeting, the Chair and members of the Council noted the significant life path of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, his invaluable services to the Azerbaijani people, his contribution to the establishment of modern, strong and democratic Azerbaijan Republic, abolition of censorship over the media, and development of Azerbaijani press, television and radio. The extensive coverage of the great leader's life, activities, and historical services to the people in the Azerbaijani media, including television and radio broadcasts, was appreciated, and the importance of such materials in the studying the rich heritage of the historical figure was emphasized.
Subsequently, two issues on the agenda were reviewed. Based on the application of the "Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company" and in accordance with the information received from the State Radiofrequencies Body, a relevant decision was adopted to allocate the 91.3 MHz radiofrequency from the "Turshsu" radio-television transmission station, located in the Shusha district, to the use of the "Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company" for the broadcasting of "Public Radio" programs.
The meeting then considered the application submitted by "Sahiyya TV" LLC to the Audiovisual Council regarding the renaming of the "Sahiyya TV" television channel. Following discussions, a decision was adopted to change the name of channel to "Saf TV".
