Representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights met with the Chair of the Audiovisual Council

On December 18, 2023 the Chair of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ismat Sattarov met with representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Needs Assessment Mission (NAM), election experts Goran Petrov and Martina Barker-Chiganikova.

The Chair of the Audiovisual Council Ismat Sattarov informed the guests about the innovations related to the new Law "On Media" in the field of audiovisual media regulation, licensing of new media entities, freedom of activity of internet television and radio, as well as licensing of these activities only on the basis of an application. The issues of election campaign in television and radio, the official bodies responsible for this process, monitoring of the election campaign in TV and radio programs and other issues were discussed during the meeting. The Chair of the Audiovisual Council also answered the questions the guests were interested in.
