The meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held

The meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan (hereinafter – "The Council") was held on April 10, 2023. The meeting considered the appeals received by the Council regarding the implementation of audiovisual media activities in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media".

Following the discussions, according to the decisions of the Council "Kaspian Telekom" LLC were granted VOD Service Provider License for the VOD service "Aila Cinema" and Platform Broadcaster (not performing satellite transmission) License for the television channel "Aila Kinozal" provided to subscribers of universal platform operator "Aila TV".

Then, based on the relevant applications submitted to the Council, it was decided to grant "Konnekt" CJSC Platform Broadcaster (not performing satellite transmission) Licenses for television channels in film-cinema genre "CTVHD", "CTVHD1" and "CTVHD2" provided to subscribers of universal platform operator “Connect TV”.

During the meeting, new applications received by the Council for the implementation of operator activity (retransmission of foreign television channels) were also considered. After the discussions, relevant decisions were made regarding the issuance of Universal Platform Operator Licenses to "Boss Group" LLC (name of the operator - "Boss Group"), "Gamma Sky-Net" LLC (name of the operator - "Gamma TV"), "TVNet Telecom" LLC (name of the operator – "TVNet") and to the natural person Bayramov Orkhan Akif (name of operator - "Xan TV").

At the meeting, the Council also adopted decisions to revoke the licenses issued to "Caspium Group" LLC, "Media Art" company and "Metronet" LLC for lack of audiovisual broadcasting activity or on the basis of an official application sent to the Council from the license holder.

At the end of the meeting the process of replacing the licenses issued by the abolished National Television and Radio Council with the new licenses issued by its successor, the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan according to the Law "On Media" was also discussed. The legal entities ("FiberNet" LLC, "ITTNet" LLC, "Sham" LLC, "Farrukh Teleradio" LLC, "RA Technologies" LLC, "Albax TV" LLC, "Azol TV" LLC, "Orbita TV" LLC) and natural person Gasymov Mohsun Huseyn that have not yet submitted documents to the Council for license replacement were given a final warning.
