Decisions have been adopted regarding the issuance of 5 new licenses and the cancellation of 3 licenses related to audiovisual media activities

On January 31, 2025 a Meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held, where a number of issues were discussed.

First, the two competitions announced for the granting of a nationwide terrestrial radio broadcaster license have been concluded. The report and opinion of the Competition Commission, which verified the documents, technical broadcasting capabilities, personnel and financial-economic potential of the applicants admitted to the competition, were heard. Later, the Members of the Audiovisual Council expressed their opinions about the applicants. Among the 5 bidders admitted to the competitions, 2 applicants with superior technical, personnel and economic potential - "Pro Media Group" LLC (radio channel: "Planet FM") and "Broadcast Media" LLC (radio channel: "Dalga FM") were declared winners and final decisions were made on the competitions. According to the decisions, at the initial stage, the 88.7 MHz radio frequency from the "Baku TV Tower Complex" was allocated to the use of "Pro Media Group" LLC, and the 92.5 MHz radio frequency to "Broadcast Media" LLC.

Then the latest appeals to the Audiovisual Council regarding the granting of a license for audiovisual media activity were discussed. According to the adopted decisions, licenses were granted to "İdeal TVNet" LLC (operator: "İdealnet") as a simple platform operator, "Azeuronet" LLC (operator: "Azeuronet") as a universal platform operator, and "TV1 Media" LLC as a platform broadcaster (television channel: "TV1") not performing satellite transmission.

At the end of the meeting, based on the applications of the license holders, appropriate decisions were made regarding the cancellation of universal platform operator licenses issued to "Beeonline" OJSC, "Global Technology" LLC and "Qafqaznet" LLC.
