Delegation of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited Turkish regulator “RTÜK”
On December 21-23, 2022 a delegation of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan paid a working visit to the Radio and Television Supreme Council of Turkey ("RTÜK") in Ankara.
The delegation of the Audiovisual Council included Hashim Alimammadzadeh, advisor to the Chairman of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nemat Javadov, the Head of the Department of Law and İnternational Cooperation, Jamila Gahramanova, Deputy Head of the Department of Law and İnternational Cooperation, Huseyn Tanriverdi, senior advisor of the Department of Technical Control of Audiovisual Broadcasting, İnformation Technologies and Communications.
Mr. Ibrahim Uslu, Vice-President of the Radio and Television Supreme Council of Turkey ("RTÜK"), received the delegation of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The current state of cooperation between the two institutions and future directions of development, the joint activities of the two Councils in international forums based on mutual dialogue and agreement and other issues were discussed.
During the meetings held within the framework of the visit, an exchange of views was held on many issues of interest of the Audiovisual Council, including Turkish experience in the field of regulation of audiovisual media, the current legislative framework in Turkey and the powers of "RTÜK" in this regard, the inclusion of new types of media in the regulation mechanisms and other issues.
During the meetings, an exchange of views also took place that the issue of creating "TBRAF" - the Forum of Audiovisual Media Regulators of member states of the OTS will be considered at the next meeting of Ministers and High officials of the OTS responsible for media and information and that the documents are expected to be signed in the autumn of 2023.
Then the delegation of the Audiovisual Council got acquainted with the activities of the Departments of "Monitoring and Evaluation", "Permits and Allocations", "International Relations", "Public Opinion, Broadcast Research and Measurement" and "Information Technologies", as well as the work of the "Digital Recording and Archiving System" (SKAAS), which has been being successfully used by "RTÜK" for more than 10 years.
