The first meeting of the Audiovisual Council in 2024 was held

 

A meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on January 23, 2024. During the meeting, two issues were discussed.

Firstly, the information provided by the State Administration of Radio Frequencies of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan on free and usable radio frequencies for FM radio broadcasting in the country was discussed. Further, based on this information, the possibility of carrying out nationwide terrestrial broadcasting activities on the basis of a new license was discussed. After discussion, the Audiovisual Council decided to announce a competition for issuing of nationwide terrestrial radio broadcaster's license. The terms of the competition will be published on the official website of the Audiovisual Council and in the country's official newspaper.

Also, the issue of extension of free-to-air digital terrestrial television broadcasting and analog FM radio broadcasting in Gubadli district was discussed on the basis of information received from the State Administration of Radio Frequencies and the Production Unit "Radio-Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication" of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding modernization of transmitting infrastructure in this district. In this context, letters received by the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan from "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" CJSC and the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company in connection with the provision of transmission of "Azerbaijan Radio" and "Public Radio" in this territory were considered. On the basis of the adopted decision the 43rd TV transmission channel from RTTS "Balasoltanly" located in the territory of Gubadlı district has been allocated for use of the infrastructure operator - Production Unit "adio-Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication" for free-to-air digital terrestrial television broadcasting. Also, 89.5 MHz band from this RTTS has been allocated for use of "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" CJSC, as well as 96.9 MHz band for use of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
