An awareness-raising seminar on advertising legislation was held for audiovisual media entities

An awareness-raising seminar on advertising legislation for representatives of audiovisual media entities was jointly organized by the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The seminar, aimed at raising the legal awareness of audiovisual media entities in the field of advertising, covered the requirements of advertising legislation, the legal regulation of advertising on digital platforms, and ensuring healthy market competition. The seminar, attended by representatives of the country's leading television and radio broadcasters, was organized to promote compliance with the legal requirements of advertising activities and discuss preventive measures addressing violations encountered in this area.

The seminar was addressed by Shahin Naghiyev, Head of the Agency's Department of Control over Unfair Competition and Advertising Legislation, and Nemat Javadov, Head of the Department of Law and International Cooperation of the Audiovisual Council. During the speeches, the importance of regulating advertising on digital platforms through legal means and ensuring a healthy competitive environment in the advertising market was discussed.

Afterwards, the Agency's representative, Royal Rahimov, made a presentation on the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Advertising", signs of unfair, inaccurate, and hidden advertising, products whose advertising is prohibited, as well as liability measures for violation of advertising legislation.

The seminar concluded with an exchange of views on practical issues in the relevant field, and a Q&A session addressing numerous questions from the participants.
