Representatives of the Audiovisual Council participated in the next phase of the trilateral expert exchange program held in Serbia

On June 15-19, 2026, the next stage of the expert exchange program has been implemented in Belgrade, the capital of the Republic of Serbia within the framework of trilateral cooperation among the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media of the Republic of Serbia (REM), and the Radio and Television Supreme Council of the Republic of Türkiye (RTÜK). 

The main goal of the expert exchange program was to develop trilateral cooperation among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Serbia in the field of audiovisual media, to discuss as well as to exchange experiences and views on licensing of broadcasting activities, emerging challenges in the audiovisual media sector in the context of the growth of global video-sharing platforms and social media, promotion of digital media services. The Audiovisual Council was represented at the program by Hashim Alimammadzade, assistant to the Chair, and Torakhanim Zeynalli, leading advisor of the Legal and International Cooperation Department of the Council's Office.

As a part of the program, the participants exchanged views and experiences on regulatory authorities' activities, media legislation, the current state, licensing, monitoring and content analysis of audiovisual media. In addition, visits were organized to the Vojvodina Public Radio and Television – the regional public broadcaster of Serbia, the Avala Tower – the national broadcasting tower complex, and the infrastructure operator "Broadcasting Technologies and Communications" Limited Liability Company, and extensive information was provided about the current state of broadcasting in Serbia.

The sessions and discussions were fruitful in getting acquainted with modern international approaches to media regulation, studying best practices, new mechanisms, and global challenges in the digital media environment, and contributed to exchanging views and using experience on media literacy, combating hate speech, and protecting children's rights in audiovisual media.

It was agreed that the 4th stage of the expert exchange program will be organized by RTÜK in Türkiye in 2027.
