The 7th meeting of EPRA’s "Media and Information Literacy" (EMIL) taskforce was held in online format.

On April 22, 2022 the 7th meeting of "Media and Information Literacy" (EMIL) taskforce of European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) was held in online format. Deputy Head of Legal and international cooperation department of the Office of Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jamila Gahramanova also participated in the meeting.

Firstly, the chairman of the Working Group, Maria Donde gave brief information about the upcoming presentations on the topic of "Focus on empowering children & youth". The project "ICT and citizen participation" under DigiGen program implemented by Great Britain, Estonia and Greece was presented by Athina Karatzogiani. The project consists of 3 stages. In the first phase, netnographic research (online observation, content and 65 interviews in total) was conducted between September 2020 and April 2021 in Estonia, Greece and the United Kingdom, comparing the reasons and the means by which youth engaged in online civic participation, focusing on online movements mobilizing for racial, social and environmental justice. In the second phase, focus group discussions were organised as digital storytelling workshops with young people involved in the production of online political discourse with the aim of identifying how they are affected by the online environment of their choice and key strands in youth ideological online production. In the third phase, we critically assessed digital citizenship in educational systems and in national digital citizenship documents (multimedia included) in the UK, Greece and Estonia, focusing on the inclusion and promotion of digital. The results of all the phases were discussed.

After this, "What do you bet?" project under the "EduCac" program the was presented. The Audiovisual Council of Catalonia, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, presents "EduCaC", a communication education program born with the priority objective of promoting media education in areas formal and informal education. The program carries out activities on media literacy among students related to games, gambling, video games.

Then Will Gardner gave detailed information about the "Digital Leaders" program conducted by the United Kingdom. The programme is fan and effective and empowering young people to educate their peers about online safety. It allows young people to inform their peers, parents, and teachers about internet safety, as well as helps them to apply a common approach to online security in schools.

Also, Jane McGarrigle made a presentation about the "Webwise" Youth Advisory Panel. That panel provides users with information, advice and free educational resources. The Panel is a great support for young people, parents and teachers.

At the end of the meeting, Emanuella Machet gave brief information about preparation of profiles of EMIL members.
