Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan

The meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.

The meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on March 11, 2022. A number of issues were discussed at the meeting.

Firstly, the results of the competition for the opening of a nationwide radio channel (frequency 107.0 MHz on the territory of Baku city and the Absheron Peninsula), announced by the Council from January 17, 2022 to February 17, 2022 were declared. Within the framework of the competition 6 applicants submitted their documents to the Council: "Khazar TV" LLC  (name of radio channel: Khazar News Radio); "Real Analysis Information Center" LLC (name of radio channel: Real FM); "INS CM" LLC (name of radio channel: INS CM Radio); "Isti Press" LLC (name of the radio channel: Isti Press Radio); "ProMediaGroup" LLC (name of radio channel: Sport Radio); "Balance Studio" LLC (radio channel name: Balance Studio). The final report of Competition Commission on the documents submitted by the applicants and review of their place was heard. After extensive discussions, it was decided to declare the Limited Liability Company "Real Analysis Information Center" (Real FM) as the winner of the competition, which has a higher potential compared to other applicants in terms of technical capabilities, compliance with the broadcasting concept and the availability of professional staff.

The second issue on the agenda was the allocation of new frequencies in the regions for the "Radio TMB" channel. In this regard, the opinion of technical experts of the Council was heard. Then, based on the request of "Radio Group" LLC and the opinions of technical experts, it was decided to give the 94.1 MHz radio frequency from the radio and television broadcasting station "Poylu", located in the territory of the Agstafa district, and the 94.9 MHz  radio frequency from the radio and television broadcasting station "Tepejannet", located in the territory of the Sheki district, for broadcasting the nationwide radio channel "Radio TMB" to the Limited Liability Company "Radio Group".

Further, taking into account the technical impossibility of broadcasting the nationwide radio channel "Public Radio" on the existing frequency and the opinions of technical experts, it was decided to change 90.7 MHz radio frequency of the radio and television broadcasting station "Shusha", located in the territory of the Shusha district, which was given by the decision No. 13/2 of the National Television and Radio Council dated December 29, 2020 to 88.7 MHz radio frequency.

At the end of the meeting concerns were heard about the commercial advertising, which was broadcast on a number of channels, after which an appeal was made to broadcasters about this.
