The Meeting devoted to 30-year anniversary of 20 January Tragedy was held in NTRC
At the meeting devoted to 30-year anniversary of 20 January Tragedy the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives in the name of Motherland was observed by minute of silence.
Speaking at the meeting the Chairman of National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) noted that 20 January Tragedy, being a day of national mourning, reaffirmed the inviolability of the will and bravery of the Azerbaijani people. The Chairman of NTRC pointed out that the first political assessment of this tragedy was given by national leader Heydar Aliyev on the 21st of January in 1990.
Then the Members of the Council and some staff member of the Council’s Body spoke and described this bloody January day as a tragedy of the people and as a valiant heroic page of Azerbaijan. At the end of the meeting, a slide film about the events of that day, prepared by Council workers, was shown.
