National Television and Radio Council announced outcomes of the contest for new TV channel.

National Television and Radio Council held its meeting on 14 March 2014. At the meeting it were considered the documents of 3 applicants – "Brand in Baku" LLC, "Fatiyev Company" LLC and "Region TV" LLC had participated in competition from 22 January 2014 till 22 February 2014 announced by NTRC on 14 January 2014 for opening of new national TV channel (Channel 37, sector 11 in Baku City and Apsheron Peninsula) and outcomes of the competition were discussed.

Being guided by the Articles 15, 19, 22 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" No.345-IIQ 25 June 2002; by the paragraphs 8.6 and 9.6 of "Regulations of National Television and Radio Council" approved on 5 October 2002 by the Decree No.795 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; by paragraph 33.1 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No.782 2 September 2002 "On improvement of provisions which grants special permissions (licenses) in some spheres of activity" National Television and Radio Council has announced "Region TV" LLC as a winner of the competition due to more advanced creative possibilities, wider appropriate material and technical basis and more professional personnel. "Region TV" LLC was granted special permission (license) for the term of 6 years.

Also the issue of topics and videos broadcasted during programs "Adam icinde" (Between people) of ANS Channel, "Umid var" (There is hope) of ATV Channel and "Uz-uze" (Vis-à-vis) of SPACE Channel that contradict national-moral values and ethic norms was discussed by the Council. It was noted that such programs boosting negative personal and family issues for creating of shows and for top ratings are contradiction of legislation, as well as ethic norms and thus cause fair public dissatisfaction. National Television and Radio Council advised broadcasters to take into account already existing public opinion in future regulation of program policy.
