On November 18, 2016 the regular meeting of National Television and Radio Council was held
At the meeting the current situation on transition to digital television broadcasting was discussed. Aiming at ensuring people’s comfort and simplification of work of acquisition of decoders (set-top-boxes) for viewing of digital television broadcasting by means of analogue television receivers it was considered convenient to conduct the analogue switch-off (ASO) process in regions stage by stage and for this purpose it was decided to make changes to Decision 10 of National Television and Radio Council from 27 September 2016. According to the changes made to Decision, the analogue switch-off in regions will be carried out in 3 stages:
- The 1st stage will happen on the 1st of December 2016 and cover following 8 districts: Shamakhi, Gobustan, Siyazan, Shabran, Khizi, Guba, Gusar and Khachmaz.
- The 2nd stage will cover 32 districts and should be completed on the 10th of December 2016.
- The 3rd stage that covers the rest 14 districts will be completed on the 20th of December 2016.
