A warning was issued to television channels due to the violation of legal requirements in the content of bank's lottery advertisement

At the meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan held on December 11, 2023 the results of the monitoring of advertising content broadcast on national terrestrial television channels in October were discussed.

As a result of the joint monitoring conducted by the Audiovisual Council and the State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market, violations of the requirements of Article 15.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Advertising" (conditions, time and duration of the lottery, competition, games and other events, prize the fund, the place and time of awarding prizes, the conditions for their purchase, as well as information about their organizer should be reflected or announced in the advertisement  about the events, stimulating the sale of goods) due to the fact that incomplete information was provided about the lottery conducted by bank.

The broadcast of this advertisement, which was shown on many TV channels, continued on November. In view of the above, after discussions, the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a warning to the broadcasters that administrative sanctions would be imposed on them in the event of a repetition of such a violation.
