The 694-790 MHz radio frequency band, previously intended for the use by infrastructure operator and multiplex operators, has been replaced with lower-band radio frequencies

In accordance with the Resolutions of the International Telecommunication Union No.224 and No.760, it was decided to allocate the 694-790 MHz radio frequency band used for radio broadcasting for mobile telecommunication services. By the Decision No.2 of the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Radio Frequencies dated February 22, 2022 it was decided to use the 694-790 MHz radio frequency band for mobile communication.

Subsequently, the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the relevant structures of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, as well as official representatives of the infrastructure operator ("Radio Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communications" Production Association) and multiplex operators ("ATV Plus" LLC and "AGS TV" CJSC) providing television retransmission services in the specified radio frequency band, conducted a number of meetings during which procedural rules and terms of necessary changes were established. As a result of this work, the operators have reported in November this year that they were ready to make the necessary changes.

In view of the above, at the meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held on November 24, 2023 a decision was made to replace the a radio frequency 694-790 MHz band (above the 48th TV transmission channel) allocated for the use of the operator of infrastructure ("Radio Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communications" Production Association) and multiplex operators ("ATV Plus" LLC and "AGS TV" CJSC), with a radio frequency in a lower band (below the 48th TV transmission channel).
