Meeting with the heads of national television and radio channels of Azerbaijan held at NTRC on October 10, 2019.

At the meeting the existing situation in the sphere of television and radio broadcasting in Azerbaijan, the challenges and the ways to solve them have been discussed. Chairman of NTRC Nushiravan Maharramov informed guests about arising public concerns on some broadcasted programs, violations of the legislation, especially, in the sphere of advertising of medicines and medical treatment, as well as, on infringements of requirements of legislative acts against using of tobacco products.

Chairman of the Council also spoke about duties of the broadcasters in issue of implementations of the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On protection of children from harmful information" which will enter into force on 1 January 2020 and needs to start preparatory works in this direction.

The heads of television and radio channels offered to combine efforts of broadcasters, regulatory authority and public in prevention and solving of above-mentioned challenges and pointed out the importance of promotion of principle of diversity of programs broadcasted by national channels.
