The Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan will suspend broadcasting of the programms of TV channel “ARB” for 3 hours due to inaccurate advertising

On April 12, 2023, the meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in online format.

On the meeting the letter from the State Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control State Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the fact of inaccurate advertising and the results of the monitoring carried out on the basis of this letter were discussed.

So, in the ad material "Mahammad Efendiyev Phlebology Center: get rid of varicose veins by laser treatment", which was broadcast on February 17, 2023 on the "ARB" TV channel, an inaccurate advertisement was made using the phrase "There is a cure for all diseases in our clinic".

As a result of the discussions, the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, guided by the Article 7.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Advertising", the Articles 39.1.4, 41.1.1 and 41.5 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media", adopted a decision to suspend the broadcasting of programs of "ARB " television channel of national terrestrial television broadcaster "ARB 24" LLC on April 16, 2023 from 01.00 PM to 04.00 PM for 3 (three) hours.

The broadcaster was informed about the decision. Other broadcasters are also advised to be careful in such matters.
