The Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan summed up the results of the announced competitions for the issuance of licenses to three nationwide terrestrial radio broadcasters

On September 23, 2022 a meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. At the meeting, the results of the announced competitions for the issuance of 3 (three) licenses of nationwide terrestrial radio broadcasting were summed up and the winners were announced.

First of all, an extensive report and the conclusion of the Competition Commission were heard. Competition Commission carried out check of the documents, technical, creative and personnel capabilities, as well as the financial and economic potential of applicants who submitted documents for participation in the competitions. Later, the members of the Council expressed their opinions regarding each applicant who participated in the competitions.

According to the results of the meeting, among 7 applicants who have submitted documents for participation in the three competitions, 3 applicants with higher technical, creative, human resources and economic potential, namely – "NHR" LLC (name of the radio station: "Yurd FM"), "Baku FM" LLC (name of the radio station "Baku Hit FM"), "Retro FM" LLC (name of the radio station "Baku Retro FM") were declared the winners and the final decisions on each competition were taken.

According to the relevant decisions of the Council radio frequencies 90.7 MHz from "Baku TV Tower Complex", 104.5 MHz from RTBS "Ivanovka" in Ismayilli district, 89.6 MHz from RTBS "Lankaran" in Lankaran district, 98.0 MHz from RTBS "Shusha" in Shusha district, and 90.9 MHz from RTBS "Danachı" in Zagatala district were allocated "NHR" LLC for broadcasting of the radio channel "Yurd FM"; radio frequencies 93.0 MHz from "Baku TV Tower Complex", 98.8 MHz from RTBS "Ivanovka" in Ismayilli district, 107.5 MHz from RTBS "Lerik" in Lerik, 96.1 MHz from RTBS "Shusha" in Shusha district, and 88.4 MHz  from RTBS "Poylu" in Aghstafa district were allocated "Baku FM" LLC for broadcasting of the radio channel "Baku Hit FM"; radio frequencies 93.3 MHz from "Baku TV Tower Complex", 102.1 MHz from RTBS "Gulustan" in Aghsu district, 91.3 MHz from RTBS "Lerik" in Lerik district, 97.1 MHz from RTBS "Shusha" in Shusha district, and 93.3 MHz from RTBS "Daglı" in Guba district were allocated "Retro FM" LLC for broadcasting of the radio channel "Baku Retro FM".

Then, due to obstacles occurring in receiving of digital terrestrial free-to-air (social) television package transmitted from RTBS "Atabek" in Shamkir district via 22nd TV broadcasting channel it was decided to transmit free-to-air (social) television package via 35th TV broadcasting channel from the same RTBS.
