An International Media Forum was held in Shusha
On July 22, 2022 - on the National Press Day, the International Media Forum "Global trends in media, new challenges" was held in Shusha, organized by the Media Development Agency.
The main goals of the International Media Forum were to analyze various trends in the field of media in the global and local context, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience on topical issues, as well as increased cooperation between representatives and entities of local and foreign media. The Forum, which was attended by officials of international organizations, local media and public representatives, media representatives and experts from different countries, started with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. And then a minute of silence was observed in memory of National Leader Haydar Aliyev and Martyrs of the Patriotic War.
The event featured the screening of a video highlighting the 147th anniversary of the Azerbaijani press, prepared by the Media Development Agency.
Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev read out the congratulatory message of President Ilham Aliyev to representatives of the Azerbaijani media (text of the message: https://president.az/az/articles/view/56720).
Speaking at the forum, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ismat Sattarov spoke about the current situation in the field of regulation of audiovisual media and compliance with existing legal acts, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency Ahmad Ismayilov shared data on the effectiveness of media reforms and preliminary results, Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Foundation Rahman Hajiyev spoke about the place and role of the "Karabakh Center" project in the information war, as well as public participation in restoration and reconstruction works in Karabakh.
Maftun Abbasov, Chairman of the Board of the State Nature Reserve Department of the Shusha city, noted that the Management of the Reserve, together with other state bodies, carries out multifaceted activities in the direction of the revival of our cultural capital, both physical and spiritual revival of the city.
Shafag Mekhraliyeva, Director of the Communications and Digital Media Program of the ADA University, spoke about the impact of the trainings organized jointly with the Media Development Agency on the new media environment.
Then the forum continued with speeches of officials and media representatives, as well as discussions of defined panel topics.
