The Audiovisual Council continues monitoring the retransmission packages provided by platform operators

According to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media", multiplex and platform operators may retransmit foreign television channels only if they submit to the Audiovisual Council documents confirming their right (such as contracts, agreements, permits, licenses, etc.). The Audiovisual Council's experts review the documents provided by operators, as well as their retransmission packages and carry out monitoring.

Regular monitoring has found that more than 100 foreign television channels were retransmitted in the packages of platform operators "Artkom.Net" LLC, "Boss Group" LLC and "Shakh Telecom" LLC without the necessary documents giving the right to retransmission. In this regard, on November 19-20, 2024 the Audiovisual Council drew up protocols on administrative offences and sent them to the relevant courts, taking into account the requirements of Article 43.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences.

The Audiovisual Council once again reminds operators that foreign television channels included in the retransmission packages can only be retransmitted if a document giving the right to retransmission is available. Continuous monitoring is being carried out in this regard, and the results will be regularly provided to the public.
