The Audiovisual Council has issued a warning to the channel for broadcasting an unethical word on “Xazar TV”

On October 23, 2024 an extraordinary online meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held to discuss the case of an unethical word voiced by one of the characters in a TV series aired on October 22, 2024 between 22:00 and 23:10 on "Xazar TV".

During the discussion, it was noted that at 22:32, the unethical word voiced by the character was not blocked by the broadcaster through technical means, thus violating the requirement of Article 14.1.6 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media", which prohibits the use of words, expressions, and gestures with indecent lexical (swearing) meanings. Considering that this incident occurred on "Xazar TV" for the first time, the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a warning to the broadcaster that administrative sanctions would be imposed if such violation is repeated.
