"Space TV" has been warned by the Audiovisual Council for broadcasting “APA TV” content without permission and reference.

On 28 December 2023, a meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in online format. At the meeting, the application of "APA TV" channel submitted to the Audiovisual Council on 26 December 2023 was discussed, as well as the fact of violation of the legislation, which was revealed in the broadcast of "Space TV" channel during the monitoring on the basis of this application.

Thus, the video materials of the program "Extra interview" aired on "APA TV" on December 11, 2023 were shown on December 25, 2023 at 22:09 on "Space TV" channel ("Independent TV and Radio Company Space" LLC) in the program "Gul kimi show" without reference to the author. Thus, the requirement of Article 13.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media" (In the lack of a subscription or contract, a media entity may use the information of another media entity by reference and without exceeding one-third of each piece of information) was violated.

Following discussions, the Audiovisual Council issued a warning to "Independent TV and Radio Company Space" LLC. The company was informed that administrative sanctions would be applied if a similar situation were to occur again. It should be noted that "APAMARK" LLC has the right to defend its rights in court according to Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan encourages all broadcasters to respect each other's copyrights and to provide mandatory references to other broadcasters' programs (or parts thereof) when broadcasting them.
