The Audiovisual Council held a meeting with representatives of platform broadcasters and on-demand media service providers
On December 02, 2025 the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a meeting with representatives of platform broadcasters not performing satellite transmission and on-demand media service providers. The meeting focused on assessing compliance with the requirements of the Law "On Media" in the areas of platform broadcasting and on-demand media services.
Fazil Novruzov, Head of the Office of the Audiovisual Council, provided detailed information on platform broadcasters and on-demand media service providers, outlining their activities, the applicable legal and regulatory framework, as well as the procedures for issuing and revoking licenses. Kamran Aliyev, adviser at the Legal and International Cooperation Department of the Audiovisual Council, then delivered a presentation on "Legal regulations, requirements and expectations in the media environment". He highlighted the obligations of platform broadcasters under the Law “On Media”, the minimum requirements related to broadcasting hours, and the Council’s monitoring and oversight mechanisms.
The meeting reviewed the shortcomings and compliance issues identified during the monitoring conducted throughout 2025, and addressed the resulting responsibility measures. Participants’ questions were also answered.
