The deepening of cooperation between the audiovisual media regulatory authorities of Azerbaijan and Albania was discussed
Within the 12th Meeting of the Black Sea Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (BRAF) of the member countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC), held in Vlora, Albania from 16 to 19 September 2025, İsmat Sattarov, the Chair of the Audiovisual Council, held a meeting with Ms. Armela Krasniqi, the Chair of Albanian Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA).
During the meeting, İsmat Sattarov expressed high appreciation for the 12th BRAF meeting organized by AMA on the topic of "Hate speech and freedom of information on audiovisual and online media platforms", emphasizing that the event was of great importance for fostering relations among the regulatory authorities of member states, as well as facilitating the mutual exchange of experiences. The Chair of the Audiovisual Council noted that there are opportunities to expand and enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of audiovisual media regulation.
Recalling the 11th BRAF meeting, which was organized by the Audiovisual Council and held in Baku in April of this year, the Chair of AMA expressed her gratitude for the excellent organization and hospitality. Ms. Krasniqi conveyed her satisfaction with the current state of cooperation between the two institutions and confirmed that there are significant opportunities to further strengthen the relations.
During the meeting, participants also discussed the successful cooperation within the frameworks of EPRA (European Platform of Regulatory Authorities) and BRAF, as well as the challenges arising from the rapid development of information and communication technologies in regulating audiovisual media and potential ways to address them.
