A warning was issued to “ATV” television channel for advertising the healing properties of hypnosis and bioenergy effects

An online meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on November 26, 2025. At the meeting, the case in the “Gun ortasi” program broadcast on November 13, 2025 on "ATV" channel was discussed. In the aforementioned program, the guest invited to the studio applied a “remote energy transfer” method to the presenter, and after the session the presenter spoke positively about this experience.

The experts of the Department of Monitoring and Analysis of Audiovisual Programs of the Audiovisual Council considered these statements as a violation of Article 29.8 of the Law “On Advertising” (Advertising the therapeutic properties of mass therapeutic sessions, methods of hypnosis, mental and bioenergy influences is prohibited).This fact was also confirmed as a violation by the lawyers of the Audiovisual Council.

The members of the Audiovisual Council discussed the matter in detail and unanimously concluded that the “remote energy transfer” method demonstrated in the program, as well as the presenter’s positive reaction to this “session”, may create the impression that this method has therapeutic properties. This was therefore assessed as a violation of Article 29.8 of the Law “On Advertising”, which prohibits advertising mass therapeutic sessions, methods of hypnosis, and mental and bioenergy influences as having therapeutic properties. In addition, the presenter's positive comments about the potential therapeutic benefits of the demonstrated actions were deemed to constitute an advertisement in violation of the relevant provision of the Law “On Advertising”.

As a result, the members of the Audiovisual Council issued a warning to “ATV” channel, taking into account that this was the first time such a violation had occurred. All broadcasters are required to comply with legislative requirements when broadcasting programs.
